Seriously the best gluten-free chocolate cake ever. So easy to make and it is a favourite amount birthday parties and celebrations. The secret to this gluten-free chocolate cake is sour cream. It adds a ton of moisture to the batter.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
- Gluten-Free Flour Blend
- White Sugar
- Baking Soda
- Butter ( or vegan butter)
- Sour Cream (or use a vegan sour cream)
- Buttermilk ( or add vinegar to milk choice)
- Egg
- Vanilla
- Unsweetened Chocolate Squares
A gluten-free chocolate cake recipe that is moist and super easy to make. It is a favourite gluten-free chocolate cake. Not only is the cake delicious but the homemade chocolate frosting is over the top tasty. Everyone loves when I make this gluten-free sour cream chocolate cake and I swear there are never any leftover pieces.
Sour cream has a high fat content thus adding so much moisture to the cake. It keeps it moist so it doesn’t dry out. It is the perfect old fashioned chocolate cake made gluten-free.

HOW TO MAKE THE CAKE:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan add the butter and chocolate squares and melt. Stir well once melted.
- Whisk the dry ingredients in a small bowl.
- Add the sour cream, vanilla and sugar in a medium bowl and mix well.
- Add the egg and beat again.
- Add the dry ingredients and buttermilk and beat until smooth.
- Add the melted chocolate and beat again until you have a smooth batter.
- Pour into lined baking pan.
- Bake in oven 32-35 minutes.

Gluten Free Sour Cream Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup gluten free flour blend
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup Softened butter or vegan butter
- 1/2 cup Sour cream or vegan sour cream
- 1/2-3/4 cup Buttermilk Or add 1 Tbsp vinegar to milk of choice
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 3 squares unsweetened chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl whisk the gluten free flour blend and baking soda together.
- In a small saucepan on low heat melt the butter with the chocolate squares.
- Stir and heat until mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and cool.
- In a small bowl add vinegar to milk unless you have buttermilk.
- In a medium bowl add the sour cream, vanilla and sugar and mix on low speed with a hand mixer.
- Add the egg and mix again.
- Add alternately the flour blend and the buttermilk and turn to medium speed and beat until batter is smooth.
- Add the melted chocolate mixture and mix until smooth.
- Pour cake batter into the prepared baking pan and place in oven.
- Bake in oven for 30-35 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool.

Ingredients
- 1/8 cup softened butter
- 1/2 Pkg cream cheese
- 2/3 cup cocoa
- 1/3 cup Milk
- 2-2 1/2 cups icing sugar
Instructions
- Add softened butter and cream cheese to bowl and beat until smooth
- Add the cocoa, icing sugar and milk and mix on low speed. Increase speed until frosting is thick and creamy.
- Ready to icing your favorite cake.
