HOW TO MAKE THE CAKE:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium size mixing bowl add the softened butter and sugar and beat well.
- Add the eggs, oil, vanilla and applesauce and beat again.
- In a small bowl add the dry ingredients and whisk.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix on low speed.
- Add the buttermilk and mix on low speed. Then increase to medium and beat until you have a smooth batter.
- Pour batter into lined square pan.
- Bake for 35-37 minutes.
- Remove and cool before icing.

- 1 1/2 Tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 Cup softened butter
- 3 Large eggs
- 3/4 Cup buttermilk
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 1/2 Cup Applesauce
- 1 Tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 Tsp Dried vanilla powder
- Optional gluten-free sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

- In a small bowl add gf flour, baking powder and dried vanilla powder and whisk together.
- In a medium bowl add the butter and sugar and beat well.
- Add the eggs and beat well again.
- Add the dry ingredients and the applesauce, oil and buttermilk and beat on low speed. Increase speed to medium and beat until you have a smooth batter.
- Pour batter into lined square pan.
- Bake for 35-38 minutes.
