I think biscuits can go with anything, even a salad because they are a wonderful substitute for bread or buns. Far easier to make also. Nothing is better than hot biscuits out of the oven with a dollop of cold butter on top.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
- Gluten-Free Biscuit Mix
- Cold Butter
- Milk or Buttermilk
- Salt
This gluten-free biscuit recipe makes a really good drop biscuit everytime. Just a few simple ingredients and my gluten-free biscuit mix and you will have hot biscuits to serve to your family in less than 20 minutes.
Growing up we ate a lot of biscuits with my Grandmas homemade stews and soups. Truly nothing was better. A delicious gluten-free biscuit that is easy to make and mimics a Bisquick drop biscuit. No cutting into circles like a rolled biscuit recipe-just scoop and drop. Roll gently into a ball and lightly press down, thats it!
Simply whisk the dry ingredients together, add the chopped cold butter cubes and mash to resemble very coarse sand. Add wet ingredients and mix, that is it. No rising time needed. Ready from start to finish in less than 30 minutes.
HOW TO MAKE BISCUITS:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Add biscuit mix and salt to a medium bowl.
- Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter, hand mixer or stand mixer to mix together. Mixers should be on low speed. Mix should resemble coarse sand.
- Add the milk, starting with 1/2 cup first. Add the other 1/4 cup if dough does not come together.
- Use an ice cream scoop to drop dough onto lined cookie sheet.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes.
- Remove and serve while hot.

Equipment
- 1 hand mixer (Or pastry blender or stand mixer)
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 Cup Gluten-free biscuit mix
- 1/2 -3/4 cup Milk or buttermilk
- 3 Tbsp cold butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 Tsp Salt
Instructions
- Add biscuit mix and salt to a medium bowl and add cold butter.
- Use a pastry blender, hand mixer or stand mixer to mix. Mixers should be on low speed.
- Mix on low speed until mix resembles coarse sand.
- Add milk, start with 1/2 cup and see if dough combines. Add 1/4 cup more if needed. Mix on low until dough comes together. Do not over mix.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Use an ice cream scoop to drop batter onto lined cookie sheet.
- Use your hands to gently form dough into a ball, then press lightly to flatten a bit.
- Bake in oven for 12-14 minutes.
- Remove and serve while hot.
