Turn slow cooker to sauté function.
Cook up the bacon.
Drain most of the fat.
Add onions, celery and spices and sauté for 5 minutes.
Add potatoes, ham and bone broth and turn slow cooker to low.
Cook on low for 4-5 hours.
Add corn and cook for 1/2 hour.
Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl.
Stir well.
Turn slow cooker to sauté and add cornstarch slurry and stir chowder.
Add whipping cream and sauté for 7 minutes.
Turn off and serve.
I like to add fresh chopped dill to my chowder before serving.
