The Duke Royale / A Gin Cocktail

Sparkly, frosty and a little bit floral this lavender and limoncello gin cocktail is a refreshing drink that is delicious! Named The Duke Royale in honour of Prince Philip this cocktail is sophisticated and classic.

A refreshing spring cocktail with lavender, limoncello and Empress 1908 Gin. This cocktail is named The Duke Royale to honour the life of Prince Philip. As a Canadian who has always loved our English monarchy heritage, I wanted to create a cocktail to toast the Queen’s husband.

This cocktail is simple to make, and OH so refreshing! Add ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Then strain and pour it over crushed ice. Add some lemonade and a splash of sparkling water and you are all set. I made the keto lavender simple syrup. but you could easily buy the syrup. Recipe for the keto lavender simple syrup will be up on the blog this week.

This lavender and limoncello cocktail is fresh, bright and vitalizing. Truthfully, I only started drinking gin and tonics a few years ago. Good friends of ours introduced me to a G&T with a ton of lime and I was hooked. On a hot summer day I have to remind myself that I am not just drinking sparkling water with lime. A couple tall cold gin & tonics and my cheeks start to flush and go rosy pink.

Empress 1908 gin changes color depending on what you add to the cocktail. It can turn fuchsia, lavender, blue or pale pink by adding citrus and tonics to it.
