I remember having both as a kid.
Now my tastes have evolved I say and I prefer really good dark chocolate in my drinks.
I wanted to make a smoothie with chocolate in it and while I was playing with ingredients in the kitchen this recipe I am sharing today, ended up being my favourite.
The recipe is easy to make and uses fairly simple ingredients. I did not add protein powder to this recipe but you could easily add it when you make it yourself.
I used good quality dark cocoa powder in the smoothie plus added a bit of cinnamon to the drink. Cinnamon may help in lowering blood sugar, is high in antioxidant potency and is a natural antimicrobial. It also tastes good!
Recipe: Chocolate Banana Smoothie
This recipe makes one large serving.
- 1 cup milk
- 5 pitted dates
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp good quality cocoa powder
- 1 very ripe banana
- Add all ingredients to a blender and process until very smooth.
